Shenzhen 26th Summer Universiade will be held from August 12th to August 22nd in 2011. The main stadium is located in Longgang District, west of the city, about 15 kilometers from the city center.
As the emblem of Shenzhen Summer Universiade, “Happy U” consists of colored dots of varying size. “U” is meaningful as it may stand for “university”, “you”, “union”, “universe” or other words. Everyone has a different opinion about it. And the mascot of the ShenZhen Summer Universiade is “UU”, which is a smiling face. “UU” shows the vitality and uplifting spirit of Shenzhen. What’s more, Shenzhen Summer Universiade has her own slogan – “Start Here”. It means Shenzhen Universiade’s focus on creativity. There will be many kinds of exciting events such as Judo, Shooting and Sailing & Wind Surfing and so on.
