Introduction
This absolute music piece is composed to show colour of music. The whole piece is through by a motive “C-B-A”. However, the harmony and orchestration are changing in a vibrant, luxuriant and non-traditional way. It shows flowery colour and fully possibility of a most simple motive.
The Symphony is composed by using a technique named “palette serialism” which invented by the composer. Namely, the 24 series based on major triads and minor triads that are constructed over the 12 semitones in one octave. These series are sorted according to their colourful functionalities. They made up a closed circle from 0 to +/-6, and then will be calculated mathematically based on colour differences, so as to make final decisions of harmonic progressions with the purpose of creating different tone colours. In the symphony, composer tried to find a balance between classical music and modern music. Therefore all the chords are still built based on the "traditional third system", but they are changing frequently; generally they change every beat.
