It’s my 87th birthdaytoday. Got some messages .
One from Mycroft , asked “how’s thequeen bee”.
Some others from old friends ,theysent thanks messages. Boring!!!!
Opened my phone list. Found a namehasn’t rang for the last 12 years .-John.
Time has flown, takes me back to whenI first met him.
I saw a man who struck me as patrioticwith a colourful past. He was walking into the lab with that ridiculous stickof his. I thought it funny he didn’t realise that his limp was psychosomatic. The stick’s only real function was to remind him ofthe brave sacrifices he once endured. That’swhat kind of man John really was. Brave and enduring.
Every time when we ranthrough a dark alleychasing criminals, he loved the thrill of the chase, blood pumping through his veins, but he would never admit that.
Whenever I look up, I oftenthink, John, do you remember just thetwo of us, against the world. Do youmiss it? I do!
I vividly remember thenight you beat me, I probably deserved that. You couldn’t understand how Icould fake my own death without telling you, for two years. Do you understandnow? I know how impulsive you are, you’re always overreacting. Yes John, overreacting is the word I will use for you. But also John, I did it because Iknew you could endure it. If anyone could it would be you.
Now that things are reversed, it seemsI am the most ridiculous man in the world, you taught me to endure. Ourfriendship is my only salvation!
You are the greatest, best man I willever know John. Happy birthday to me. Cheers!
