    A hopeful look came in,
    Just before my next step.
    Thy bony brown body
    And never moved arm
    Whom art thou waiting for—
So eagerly; Forgotten the precipitous cliff?
    My loved one
Gone out for a better place to live.
    When would thou go back
    To our tiny thatched-cabin?
    Dusty my clothes may look
    The silk kept emerald green
    Thou just stand here waiting,
    Regardless of the hurtful rain.
    Even Merciless North Wind come
    Cannot change thy ever-lasting green…
That’s him! In the throng pushing forward
    With their pious step
    Our Grandma kept her promise
    To bring him back safe.

      注释
1 This poem is written for the Guest-greeting Pine. We have a beautiful legend for this pine: A young couple lived on the middle of Mount Tai. The husband went out to learn skills to keep their life. The young wife waited for her husband’s return; however a long time passed, she still couldn’t hear from her husband. Therefore, she stood at the same cliff day after day looking at the crowd, hoping to find her husband’s figure. Eventually she turned into a pine tree.
I used the form of dialogue, hoping to personify the pine and made the poem more vivid. The second stanza is the thought in the “lady’s” heart, not the word she spoke out. In the last stanza, the “young lady” seemed to find her loved one and became extremely excited. This cry also freed her from my “flattery”.
      2. Our grandma refers to the goddess of Mount Tai who always appearing in the figure of an old lady. So we locally call her “Grandma of Mount. Tai”

尤其 “Dusty my clothes may look,The silk kept emerald green”这句
不过 "Whom art thou waiting for—" 是不是 “Whom are thou waiting for—”

          2.our grandma
