As we reported over a year ago, this trilogy will focus on the Water Tribes. We previously said that it could see a time jump, it’s unclear if this is still the case but the characters do look older, and the description indicates a considerable amount of time has passed since Katara and Sokka left home so long ago.
Here is the description:
When Aang leaves to aid Zuko with the Kemurikage, Katara and Sokka return to the Southern Water Tribe by themselves. Katara is shocked to find that her beloved village has become a bustling city, with none other than their father, Hakoda, in charge! A Northerner named Malina seems to be behind this change, pushing the North and South to be more unified…but what are her true goals?
There is a very interesting point here, as we know that the Northerner named Malina is actually Unalaq’s wife and Desna and Eska’s mother.
This makes her age a prominent question, but the tie to the Civil War plotline of Korra Book 2 is clear. This marks the first direct connection to The Legend of Korra in the comics— expect more and more as that 70-year gap between ATLA and LOK steadily inches smaller and smaller.
North and South Part One will be released on September 28th, 2016.
North and South Part Two will be released on January 25th, 2017.
North and South Part Three will be released on April 26th, 2017.
