Applicable laws and regulations on the personal information expiry systemArticle 29 of the Information Communications Network Act(Destruction of personal data)The information communications service providers must take necessary measures (such as the destruction of personal data) as designated by the Presidential Decree to protect the personal data of users who have not used the information communications service for a period of 1 year. However, the period may be differently designated by other legislature or the user's request.
(Newly established on February 17, 2012, and December 1, 2015.) Article 16 of the Enforcement Ordinance (Personal data destruction and etc)If the user has not used the information communications service for a period designated by Paragraph 2 in Article 29 of the Act, the information communications service providers must destroy the user's personal data immediately after the period has expired or separately store it from the personal data of other users.
