四合院所在的小镇大约形成于公园1400多年前的隋朝，因为每年桂花时节遍地飘香始称桂花场；又因为物质资源及其丰富被称为南部的鱼米之乡。
这里承载了中国南部最古老的自然风貌和人文景观，地处三大世界级自然与文化遗产中心，不仅是古代佛教徒朝拜之旅的起始地，留存至今的古码头也诉说着这里曾经商贾云集繁荣昌盛的故事；
这里的人们今天还说着堪称“化石级”的语言，古代的语言逻辑几乎完整的保留至今，我们不妨听听用古语唱出来春秋时期的《诗经》是否更加朗朗上口？郭沫若先生对甲骨文研究作出的贡献是否和他所掌握的这门语言有关？这些答案，都等待我们来解开。
这里对户外探索者也非常友好，有让你置身于白垩纪景观的桫椤森林
也有完全保留了原始状态被誉为“地下世界”的岩洞瀑布等等。
如今，这里是发现与收获的舞台，是一个自然流动文明的共创社区，是一场自然景观与人文交融的深度碰撞，让我们以此为据点，再一次从中感受、劳作与创造。
2018年我们走进这座老宅，尊重和感恩的前提下开始改造她，并创造一个充满自然气息、流动、有爱、安全且开放的空间，无论是内在还是外在；我们在此，共同去体会彼此的支持与鼓舞，去探索创造、乐趣、喜悦和爱。
通过每个人自己的参与，一起来营造和创建这样的空间。同时一起在这样的空间里，表达真实坦然、喜悦自在的自己。一起去开启和拓展我们对自然与美的感知能力，去感受历史文化的厚重，去开启和拓展我们的创造力和生命力…
