J*Lu: Where does the name KAZAKY come from, what does it mean and why did you select it?
Kazaky: We decided to call ourselves Kazaky –which means “Cossacks,” a group of predominantly East Slavic people who originally were members of military communities in Ukraine and Southern Russia– just because we liked this word. It is easy to pronounce it in any language and easy to remember. That’s all we need.
J*Lu: How was the idea of the group born and when was it created?
K: The idea appeared long ago. A group was formed shortly before we wrote the first song and filmed the clip “In the Middle.”
