Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
海线之疆，少嬉之所。
In a world of mas and miracles
维彼乐土，融融其和。
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
迷离我思，无界无国。
The ringing of the division bell had begun
遵彼周行，磬鸣离歌。
Along the Long Road and on down the Causeway
其声飘兮，荡于长堤。
Do they still meet there by the Cut
其路遥兮，与汝逢乎？
There was a ragged band that followed our footsteps
顾其足迹，逶迤如河。
Running before time took our dreams away
薄其逐梦，莫之葬兮。
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground to a life consumed by slow decay
缚虫弃矣，残生往之。
The grass was greener，the light was brighter
芳草蓁蓁，日光灼灼。
With friends surrounded，the nights of wonder
善友共之，宴尔其乐。
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
望彼余烬，熠熠其光。
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
眺彼之侧，采采绿泽。
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
足之往矣，梦之乃返。
Dragged by force of some inner tide
泛泛我心，引之向乐。
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
展旗飘兮，肃肃于姿。
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
乐土抵兮，终幻且迷。
Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
嗟乎其欲，抑志久矣。
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
悲乎其饥，无知足兮。
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
痡兮彼目，犹视海线。
Though down this road we've been so many times
斯路漫漫，往来多遍。
The grass was greener，the light was brighter
芳草蓁蓁，日光灼灼。
The taste was sweeter,the nights of wonder
妙兮其境，怿兮良宵。
With friends surrounded，the dawn mist growing
善友共之，薄雾灿兮。
The water flowing,the endless river
流水湜湜，江河弥弥。
Forever and ever
