Hollyoaks Christmas spoilers: John Paul McQueen proposes to Ste Hay
John Paul McQueen will lay his heart on the line in Hollyoaks' Christmas special, popping the question to his estranged husband Ste Hay in the middle of the village.
The single schoolteacher has been harbouring renewed feelings for Ste (Kieron Richardson) for a while now, but he finally plucks up the courage to reveal them following some advice from Tony Hutchinson.
With Ste going off the rails due to another drink and drugs relapse, Tony doesn't want him anywhere near his son Harry Thompson. Fearful that the on-off pair will reunite sooner or later, Tony makes it his mission to get John Paul (James Sutton) back with Ste instead.
John Paul is intrigued when Tony plants the seed that Ste still has feelings for him, so he asks his ex to meet him under the archway on Christmas Day - just like they promised when they broke up in the spring.
There's even more good news for Tony when Harry gets accepted onto a football scholarship in California, although the besotted teen wonders whether he can really leave Ste.
When John Paul and Ste finally do meet under the archway, John Paul gets down on one knee and asks his ex to remarry him. As it's the first anniversary of their wedding, it seems to be the perfect timing for his romantic gesture.
Just to make things as awkward as possible, Harry (Parry Glasspool) stumbles across the scene and is visibly shocked by what he's witnessing. With his young lover watching on, will Ste say yes to John Paul or reject him once again?

Hollyoaks Christmas spoilers: Lockie Campbell to go missing after shock explosion
Hollyoaks charmer Lockie Campbell will go missing in suspicious circumstances over the festive season.
Lockie (Nick Rhys) disappears after a tense showdown with his brother Cameron, who could be about to turn back to the dark side in a shock new storyline.
The trouble all centres around Cameron's old flame Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter), who recently decided to flee the village with their daughter Peri.
In the build-up to Christmas, Cameron (Cameron Moore) is delighted to finally get a lead on the pair's whereabouts when he spots Ziggy Roscoe carrying a present wrapped in boyband paper.
Catching up with his estranged wife, Ziggy questions Leela on her treatment of Cameron, but she spitefully insists that Peri doesn't have a dad as far as she's concerned. These could be dangerous words, as Leela is unaware that Cameron can hear everything.
Later, Leela is left alone when Ziggy heads off and Peri goes to meet her on-off boyfriend Tom Cunningham. However, Ziggy soon turns back towards the flat when he realises that he forgot to give Leela the present for Peri.
Ziggy's return wakes Leela up, but she panics when she can smell gas in the flat and realises that she is locked in. Hero of the hour Ziggy tries desperately to kick down the door, but Hollyoaks fans will have to tune in to find out whether he manages to save her or not.
In the aftermath, Lockie is first to smell a rat over the explosion and fears that Cameron must have had something to do with it. Getting tough with his brother, Lockie tells Cameron to leave in the next two hours or he's going to the police with his theory.
Lockie goes AWOL shortly afterwards, but few people question his disappearance as they assume that he has gone off on a cruise with his estranged wife Porsche McQueen.
It's Peri who first realises something is wrong when Porsche's cousin Theresa asks her where Lockie is, making it clear that Lockie isn't with Porsche after all.
When Peri goes to the Tugboat to find some answers, she's horrified to find obvious signs of a struggle - including glass and blood.
Has Lockie paid the ultimate price for his suspicions, and is Cameron really responsible for all of the recent sinister events? The answers will be revealed over the Christmas fortnight as Hollyoaks delivers a festive season to remember..

Reenie and Porsche encourage Cleo to do the right thing and talk to the police. After a fall out with Mercedes, a vulnerable Joe finds himself at the mercy (pun defo intended) of manipulative Lindsey’s charms, while Nancy is brimming with jealousy over Darren and Grace’s blossoming friendship.

Hollyoaks charmer Ziggy Roscoe gets back to his hapless best in Wednesday's E4 episode (December 23) as he makes another attempt to woo Tegan Lomax.
As Ziggy (Fabrizio Santino) recovers in hospital following the explosion drama at Leela's home, his thoughts turn back to Tegan and he decides to tell her how much he loves her.
Still stung after her recent experiences with Ziggy, Tegan (Jessica Ellis) decides that she can't risk getting her heart broken and walks away - but it seems she hasn't counted on just how persistent Ziggy can be.
Convinced that a big romantic gesture will be enough to change Tegan's mind, Ziggy dresses up as Santa and shimmies down a drain pipe in the village with a sack of presents over his shoulder.
Tegan arrives just in time to see Ziggy get stuck, but how will she react when her sister Leela (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) puts her own feelings aside and encourages her to go for it with him? Will this be the moment that Tegan and Ziggy finally get together?
Hollyoaks airs these scenes as part of its hour-long Christmas special, which airs at 7pm on Wednesday on E4 and 6pm on Christmas Eve on Channel 4.
