Introduction of the new AR Music Player Pro application
New AR Music Player Pro and Old AR Music Player
Both player apps are available to customer in firmware 2.6.3.
Notes and Requirements for Firmware Update
Firmware upgrade is not field reversible. After the firmware upgrade, customers will not be able to revert the firmware
back to earlier version.
1GB free space or more is available on the internal storage of M2
Windows 7/8/10 or newer
Mac OS X 10.6.9 or above with Android File Transfer installed
Upgrade should only be executed when the battery level is 60% or higher
Additional note for Mac OS X/Safari users
By default, Safari for Mac OS X will automatically decompress ZIP file after downloading. While M2 accepts only the update
package in ZIP format, the automatically decompressed content will be unusable. To ensure the download is properly done on
Safari/Mac OS X, please do the following before downloading the file:
Before downloading the file, configure the Safari not to decompress the file automatically
Under Safari > Preferences > General, uncheck the option Open “safe” file after downloading
Additional note on Media Scanning
By default, AR Music Player Pro will prompt for audio file scanning on first use. By default, it scans the following locations and
their sub-folder:
Folder “Music” in Internal Storage
Root Micro SD card
Please follow these instructions to cover root level of storage media:
1. Select Advanced on audio file scan
2. On /storage/sdcard0 screen, tap on up arrow to go up one level
3. Check sdcard0 and sdcard1
4. Tap on Scan button
Manual Media Scanning
To manually perform a media scanning, please follow these instructions
1. Tap on music bubble at the lower right corner of the AR Music Player Pro home screen.
2. Tap the option button on the upper right corner of the database screen and select Scan

Procedures to Update Firmware
1. Download the firmware file M2-V2630.zip
2. Connect AR-M2 to the computer with Micro USB data cable
3. For PC users, run Windows Explorer. Open ARM2 > Internal SD card.
Copy M2-V2630.zip into the root level of Internal SD card
For Mac users, run Android File Transfer (if it does not launch automatically)
If a micro SD card has been installed, please select Internal SD card.
Copy M2-V2630.zip into the root level of the Internal SD card.
Note: Do NOT decompress M2-V2630.zip
4. Disconnect AR-M2 from the computer after the file transfer completes
5. Open Settings > About devices, select System update
6. Select Local updates > FOLDER > Internal storage
7. Select M2-V2630.zip
8. After the prompt “Are you sure to reboot?” appears, select OK
The firmware update will be executed.
Please do not interrupt the firmware update process until completion.
